Cedarwood Atlas is a coniferous tree native to the Atlas Mountains of North Africa, particularly in Morocco and Algeria. It thrives in high-altitude, well-drained soils and cool climates. The essential oil is extracted from the wood of the mature tree through steam distillation, yielding a warm, woody scent with subtle balsamic and amber notes. Cedarwood Atlas has been historically used in construction, as the wood is durable and resistant to decay, and in traditional rituals for its symbolic association with strength and protection. The tree grows slowly, reaching up to 40 metres and can live for centuries.
